Biography

Lauren Mezzacapo-Tanner is an accomplished nurse leader anddoctoral candidate at Jacksonville University, where she is pursuing her Doctorof Nursing Practice with honors. She serves as an Inpatient Skin and WoundNurse at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, NC bringing a strongcommitment to evidence-based care and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Lauren is actively involved in Shared Governance, serving asco-chair of the Nursing Practice Council and a member of the CoordinatingCouncil. She also represents ECU Health at national professional events,including the Magnet Conference 2024 in New Orleans and Magnet Conference 2025 inAtlanta, GA.
Her research, “Mitigating Hospital Delirium Through UninterruptedNighttime Sleep,” has been accepted for presentation at the World Congress onNursing Education & Practice in Vienna, the TERMIS-AM Conference inDetroit, and here at the Nursing Care Conference in Charlotte. Lauren ispassionate about advancing nursing practice through innovation, leadership, andscholarly engagement.
