Dr. Aneela Maqsood has twenty years of experience in teaching and research at the higher education level and possesses extensive expertise in leading international collaborative research projects. She is a founding member and Centre lead of the National Centre for Research on Suicide Prevention (NCRSP) at Fatima Jinnah Women University. She is responsible for the advancement of research activities and administrative and policy aspects of the research center. Dr. Maqsood led the Department of Behavioral Sciences and initiated PhD Psychology along with scaling up the research activities of the department. She is an executive member of the Pakistan Psychological Association. She completed a Post-Doctoral fellowship in mental health from Queen Mary University of London (UK). She completed a Ph.D. fellowship from Nottingham Trent University, Nottingham (UK) in the area of quantitative analysis and the validation of the assessment tools. Her areas of specialization encompass mental health and wellbeing, intervention research, implementation science, school psychology, evaluation of assessment tools, and translational research. Dr. Maqsood received accredited training in Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) from the United Kingdom. Dr. Maqsood won highly competitive research grants awarded by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC), the British Council and Pakistan HEC joint program of International Strategic Partnership in Research & Education, Thematic Research Grant of HEC, US Grant under USEFP, US Alumni Grant, Australian Award grant, British Council Education Gateway Program, and Industrial Grant.
